I deserve extra credit, because I worked alone on this project. I also tried to make it as realistic as I could and still follow the requirements. And finally, I used my animoto that I had created earlier in the year.

I feel I deserve two points of extra credit, because I put a lot of time into creating this video. I researched background information and everything else I needed to learn about him. Plus, I put a lot of time and effort into attempting to make this animoto entertaining and interesting to watch.

Fast 15 – Building

March 8th, 2010

What do you want out of life?… When asked that question a million answers come rushing to your head. In life, there are so many things you want. But for me honestly there is one word that can some up what i want. I want to be Successful. I want to live a happy healthy life. I want a family, a great job i love and am good at, i want a lot of friends. All of those can be summed up with the one word of success. To achieve that you need to be very hardworking and very determined. I feel that there is no back up plan to that lifestyle you either achieve it or you don’t. and i plan on reaching that. I am going to attend college, get a great career, meet a wonderful man and be successful in life.

“You have to play the hand you’re dealt, you can’t win by folding, and sometimes you must take chances in order to win.” – Mike Conner

March 2nd, 2010

When given this topic nothing came to mind. Was there really an aphorisms I live by? I dont think there is a set one i live by exactly, but the aporism that I did like was “You have to play the hand you’re dealt, you can’t win by folding, and sometimes you must take chances in order to win.” This aphorism I just felt summed up what a person should live by. Life is all about taking chances and not giving up and rolling with the punches.  You have to just deal with what you’re given and make the best out of it.

Recipe for Success

March 1st, 2010

One thing i would want to improve about myself would be my soccer skills. I feel sometimes they are just not up to what they should be. To change this, I would need hard-work, determination, self-motivation, self-discipline, and more practice. I feel this could be easily attainable especially if I made more time for sports. Currently, I am focusing all on school. However, i know i could improve if I were to put some hadwork into it, a little bit of determination, self-motivation, self-discipline, and more practice. That, in my mind, is the recipe of success.

The Ultimate Sacrifice

February 23rd, 2010

To me, the ultimate sacrifice would be putting my life at risk and giving up everything for someone. One thing I can’t stand is seeing someone suffering, and if someone that i cared for was in pain and was suffering i would do anything for them. Recently, my Nana had lung cancer and it spread throughout her body. I had to visit her as much as I could because we all knew there wasn’t much time, but every time i went to visit her it just broke me down. Seeing someone that I love and care for so much hurting was horrible. I would have given up anything for her to just be alright and for her to be able to enjoy life again care free. I would have made that ultimate sacrifice. Me giving up everything for someone I care about and love would be worth anything. If my sister, mom, uncle, cousin, boyfriend or anyone i deeply care about were to become sick or have any complications I would do anything for them. I would give up my kidney, I would give them my bone marrow, I would do whatever it took to make them good again. I guess what I am really getting at is that for me to give up “the ultimate sacrifice” it would just take someone that I love and care about.

Take Another Little Piece of my heart…

January 12th, 2010

In life, I feel that one of the most important things to me is family. And to have to deal with loss of a family member would be devastating. Up until this point in my life I have never really had to deal with a loss of any sort. Whether it be an important possession, a friend, or a family member. I have seen many other people have to cope and go through with the loss of something, but I never really have. And I fear that soon I will have to… My nana (my dad’s mom) was diagnosed with lung cancer a few months back and she’s been on a slow spiral downwards. The doctors and nurses have told my family she has probably about another week however that was about a week ago. I visit her daily, but its just heart wrenching and probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. When I visit and see how she is its just reassuring that i’m going to lose her. I know I haven’t technically “lost” her but she hasn’t been acting herself. So in a way I can say I have lost something of great importance to me. And honestly its probably one of the worst feelings you can have. Its the aspect of when you lose something or someone, you won’t get it back. Whether you wont be living in the same house or you won’t see the person again, its almost like it leaves a void in you thats really hard to patch back up. It may even leave a permanent mark on you. So i sum it up by saying loss is a very difficult process to overcome, and to try and deal with it is harder than I could have ever imagined.

Love is…?

January 6th, 2010

There are many traits of an ideal and loving relationship. Well, to have a successful relationship that will last for a very long time there has to be a strong love between the two people. However, that is a very basic trait of a long lasting relationship. I am currently in a relationship that has lasted for nearly a year and a half. At first, it was rather rocky to say the least, but now its going great. We truly have an ideal and loving relationship. A big part of it would have to trust. Without trust in one another a relationship will fall apart. With no trust, a relationship would have so many fights and problems. It just wouldn’t be good. Another big part would have to be fun. I think many people overlook this aspect of a relationship, but I find being able to have fun with the other person is key. When you’re having a great time, it makes you happy and it makes i easy to stay in the relationship. Its like reading a book, if its boring you’ll put it down and move to the next one, if its interesting and good you’ll continue reading ’till the end. Also I think mystery is a trait of an ideal and loving relationship. Knowing the person to some extent is always a good thing, but by always learning more about the person and not knowing what you’ll find out or whats gonna happen next keeps it interesting. When you know everything about the person it gets kinda boring. So mystery is good. Affection is also good. Everyone likes when affection is shown. I know, i love being affectionate. Its sort of a way to express emotion too. I mean really who doesn’t love kisses? Finally, being open and honest, i think, is the most important trait. If you don’t express your feelings honestly and open with the other person they’ll never know how you feel about anything. Whether its about them or a problem your having. Its just really important that you can establish an open and honest relationship, and that makes an ideal and loving relationship.

GO FOR GOAL’D

September 22nd, 2009

Going to college

What is a goal? Merriam Webster defines a goal as “the end toward which effort is directed”. I define a goal as a hope or dream I strive to complete. The goals I have set for myself are to have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.5 at the finish of my high school career, and to continue my scholastic journey by going to college. To achieve this goal, I must remain on the same hard working path I have set forth since the start of my high school career. After high school, I plan on attending college where I will further my education and continue to strive to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA. If I do not achieve my goal of a 3.5 GPA I plan to enroll in a community college to earn my associates degree, and then transfer to achieve my bachelors at a four year institution. In five years, I plan to be a junior in college working towards getting my bachelors degree. Maintaining my high school GPA and going onto college are my main focuses.
